Bio

Legendary star Latifa was born and raised in Tunisia. A child prodigy from the age of six,
Latifa first rose to fame in Tunisia on stage and in television shows. In her late teens, she

pursued her passion for the arts and studied at the prestigious Arab Academy of Music in
Cairo. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the Academy of Arts with honours, followed
by a diploma for her masters degree.

Music

Latifa has more than 25 albums that have been influenced by different musical genres &
languages as well as different Arab dialects over the last 30 years. She collaborated with
the best names in the field of composing and literature in the Arab world. Names like the
legendary Abdul Wahab Mohammed, Balegh Hamdi, Sayed Makawi, Mohamed Mugi,
Ziad Rahbani, Ammar Sharii, Salah Sharnouby, Kathem Saher, Ziad Taweel and many
more.

Acting & Shows

Latifa starred in her first television drama series, “Password”, which was a great success
and earned several awards in Egypt.
In 2001, Latifa filmed her first movie “Silence we are rolling” with the international director
Youssef Chahine. The movie was subtitled in Arabic and French.
In 2005, Latifa starred in the play “Shepherds Rule” by the great Mansour Rahbani.
In 2011, Latifa hosted two seasons of “Yalla Nghani, Let’s sing”, a music talk show on
MBC. The show main idea was to build bridges between the old and new music
generations, also she hosted another music talk show “Hekayat Latifa – Latifa’s Stories” on
DMC & Abu Dhabi TV.

Giving back

In 2005, Latifa charity foundation was established. It is one of its kind as the first charitable
organisation to an Arab singer. The main focus is to build and help schools in Arab
speaking countries. It has also contributes to a number of charitable activities in Tunisia,
Egypt and Palestine.

Achievement & Awards

Latifa performed at various prestigious stages like Albert Hall in London and the Hall of
UNESCO in Paris.
And, besides participating in festivals like Carthage, Jerash and Lebanon City Theatre,
Latifa has had many successful concerts in Egypt, Lebanon, Algeria, Libya, Syria, Qatar,
the UAE and France.
Latifa was honoured twice with the Tunisian President Cultural Merit Medal and has
received number of awards and honours throughout her career.
Received the World Music Award, in Las Vegas, for best-selling Middle Eastern Artist
circa 2004.
